Two Month Check-Up

It was kind of a big day in the Close household. Gizzy got spayed, the Volvo was in the shop, and Francie got vaccinated. Our little Bean had her two month well-child visit and now weighs in at 9 lbs 2 oz and measures 22.5 inches long. Dr. Ryan assured us her goopy eyes are still just plugged tear ducts and are still normal. But we did learn that Francie's preference for looking to the right side is indeed impacting the shape of her little head. We try to get her to turn to the left more often, but she just likes that right side. And we were kindly reminded to spend upwards of 20 minutes each day on our tummies. Hate to admit that I'm already a pushover, and because Francie cries and whines when she's on her front, I rarely make her do so. She was such a trooper during the two shots and the oral vaccine, but her mama wasn't quite as brave. Those deep, desperate wails just make my heart churn. But better 5 minutes of crying than a month with whooping cough or a lifetime of hepatitis. Oh, and Giz is doing just fine. She's got Tramadol after all.
