(Just Pics) - "Howl"oween, the Year of the Dog

The Bean dressed up as a puppy this year. Thank goodness it was one of her actual requests (dog, deer, and fox made the final cut), because really, it was already in our dress-up box thanks to a generous neighbor's hand-me-down. We spent the morning portion of Halloween at the Children's Museum (again) where we were lucky to run into the Huff Girlz, Harlow and Monroe. After the Bean's nap, we took a stroller ride to Multnomah Village for an intense round of commercial trick-or-treating. I was more overwhelmed than the Bean. Fortunately, Daddy made it home from work and hopped on his bike in time to save me from my own madness from the crowds. I managed to maintain that this bizarre ritual of candy collecting was really just to give to daddy. But then, on the walk home, we caught the Bean eating her first lollipop. Come nightfall we hit up a few neighbor houses just to show off and say hi, and then hunkered down for the hundreds - you read that correctly, hundreds - of trick-or-treaters to raid our street. The Bean's favorite part of the whole day was sitting on the porch giving out candy to the crazies in costumes. "That baby just gave me candy!" or "That dog only gave me one" might have been overheard from the street.

First lolli. Ever.

Le sigh.

"Appy Howoween!"

And proof she had the holiday dialogue nailed this year:
