Francie, Lincoln, Mila and Cadence
We finally made it aboard the Polar Express this year - a little holiday-themed jaunt on the Mt. Hood Railroad out of Hood River. We've been talking about doing this for a few years, but I guess I'm glad we waited until the Bean was old enough to at least kind of get it. She didn't necessarily understand that it was a reference to the movie, let alone the book, despite having read The Polar Express a few times with my dad beforehand. She had a blast with the other kiddos, got to drink more hot cocoa than ever before and eat not only her own cookie but mine too. And then there was Santa - she love love loved waving out the window to him and his helper's. But she still wasn't sold on the Big Man in Red right up and close to her. In fact, when he visited our train car and tried to give Francie her silver bell, she insisted on sitting on my lap, and eventually said, quietly, "I want to look the other way." Yeah, she didn't even want to look at St. Nick, let alone get her picture with him.
Francie and Daddy
PJ's for days.
"Here, you guys just sit over here with the kids."
Mama lovin'.
Cadence and a cookie.
Hi Santa!
"I just want to look the other way."
"Jingle bells, jingle bells, all the way, hey babe!"
Flamily train ride.
Bells.
Daddy and Mama.
A real train goes by.
