(iPhone Pics) - Ireland Days 1 & 2, Red-Eye Flight/Drive toCarndonagh & Malin Head

Days 0/1 - from Portland to San Francisco to Dublin to County Donegal

We flew from San Francisco to Dublin, arriving in the morning, and then embarking on the 4+ hour drive to County Donegal, to a town even further north than the "Londonderry" you see on the map above.

Well-rested and excited family at PDX.

The Bean excited to get her first passport stamp.

Somehow she collected a variety of sticker between check-in and lining up to board the flight to San Francisco.

Happy and excited, settled into our Aer Lingus red-eye from SFO to Dublin.

Watching the pre-flight safety video.

Everyone told us the iPad would save the day. I don't think she watched even one episode of Daniel Tiger in total.

I'm  a pack-horse.

Wonderful lunch stop en route from Dublin to Carndonagh.

Driving on the wrong side of the car, on the wrong side of the road.

Day 2 - Exploring the Inishowen Peninsula, including Malin Head (the northernmost point in Ireland)

Happy Father's Day!

The weather was as expected - wet, cold and windy.

Malin Head walk.

Mama and the Bean and the Atlantic.

Happy Father's Day to Papa and Daddy

A few random stops along the drive.

Our first pub stop. Guinnnes for all. Briian, Grandma Lambie, Alex, Francie, Paul, Chris.

Family photo - Papa, Mimi, Grandma Lambie, Daddy, the Bean, Mama, Uncle Brian and Aunt Jen.

Four generations of Irish - Chris, Peggy, Francine, and Alex

The days are long - evening pub times. Jen, Papa, Francie and Alex. More Guinnes. This pub, Lillie's, is owned by one of the cousins in Malin.

Francie's new BFFs. Charming the Irish locals like nobody else can.
